The House

House of Marenya is a brand of statement — saturated color, bold print, unexpected silhouette. Naya works with East African textile cooperatives in Kenya and Uganda to source hand-woven cotton and silk; pieces are then designed in London and produced in a small atelier in East London. The aesthetic is modern bohemian without the hippie connotation — pieces are sharply tailored, often architectural, in colors that are loud but never garish. The brand has been profiled in British Vogue, the FT, and i-D; the customer is a woman who wants to be seen across a room, in a good way.

Naya Marenya

Naya Marenya was born in Nairobi to a Kenyan father and British mother and raised in London. She studied at Central Saint Martins, won the LVMH young-designer prize in 2020, and founded House of Marenya in 2021 to bring African textile traditions and color into contemporary Western silhouettes.
